Mr. Conservative, a staged reading
Did you know that the father of the modern conservative political movement in this country was the first to decry "Don't ask don't tell" as a bogus policy? It's true. As Goldwater himself said, "You don't need to be straight to fight and die for your country. You just need to shoot straight." If he were alive today, Barry Goldwater might just as well be called Mr. Liberal by his own Republican party.
Mr. Conservative is about more than the life of Barry Goldwater. It puts forth the notion that if you follow opossing political ideas (left vs right) to their logical extremes, there is a place where they find a common ground.
There will be a post show discussion with the playwright, director and actor following this reading. We encourage you to share your thoughts and impressions with us.
